If you get 225 for the rears the tires will be stretched and it will affect your speedometer. It’s performance based and for car handling. Some BMWs have different front and rear tires, so these can only be swapped with one another. By switching them up, you can wear them as evenly as possible. Naturally, some tires will be worn faster than others.
As a general rule of thumb, it’s safe to fit a tire up to 20 millimeters wider than stock on the original rim.
